Want to Lose 27lbs? Eat Twinkies!

No, that's not a typo. Nor did I throw it in to get you to read my post. Mark Haub, the professor of human nutrition at Kansas State University undertook the task of eating a Twinkie every 3 hours for 10 weeks in order to prove that most patented weight loss programs are pure BS. His theory, which has been validated so many times it should be common knowledge, is that calorie intake vs how many calories you burn is what dictates weight loss/gain. In addition to his Twinkie meals, he also took a multivitamin pill, ate some veggies, and drank a protein shake so he could...you know...live to share his story. Overall, Prof. Haub lost 27lbs over the course of those 10 weeks.

This story is close to my heart, because I have gone through a period of extensive weight loss myself. Over the course of 6 months, I lost about 60lbs doing just what Prof. Haub did; I ate a little less than I should have, and exercised. It baffles me that to this day, people are still hopelessly trying to lose weight, enrolling in all of these programs to help them out, when the solution is so simple and logical.

FACT: Shedding 1lb of fat means you need to burn 3500 more calories than you take in.
